VIIC Conning Tower

Am I the only one who thinks that the conning tower on the sh3 VIIC looks a little too "box like"?? In every picture I've seen (both model and real), the VIIC has a much more rounded shape, kind of like an exagerated cut away of an aeroplane wing.

Anyway, I thought these are more like the true tower:

If anyone has created a new model for the VIIC conning tower for gwx and they'd like to share it I'm all ears

The VIIC first conning tower in sh3 dont' look's nice also to me I talk about this on the Polish forum's, but no one can find the answer how do this, how make it more realistic. I know 3dsmax only a little. I can rework the conning for VIIC, but I don't know how made the texture mapping for it. Great to know, that the Tomi_099 can do this. I think this thread is important. The basic conning for VIIC is horibble to me , so when I chose VII type U-boat it's VIIB usualy , not VIIC. I know. I can use VIIB conning for VIIC, and VIIC conning for VIIB, but the VIIB conning tower is to small for VIIC submarine, and the VIIC conning is to big for the VIIB .

But is the simple way for make the VIIC conning tower smaller a little specialy for persons who don't know 3dsmax. It can be done in S3D. How it can be done?
In S3D I open DAT file for the type VIIC submarine, and I adjust some lower point for the node for the conning tower on the 3D model. Conning is some smaller and then it looks more realistic. But this is only a simple trick. We need something more than this I think. We need revorked new conning tower for VIIC, looking more like the "Das Boot" conning tower.

I think it's not so much the hull - the hull's great, but the conning tower lets it down so much, and I really wanna use a decent VIIC. Also, when I use a VIIC with the VIIC/1 tower, i get the railing on the side of the boat that suggests i have VIIC/3 stuck on there Any ideas?

Actually no forget that last one people, just focus on remodelling the tower

Some time ago I made new railing for VIIC. But with the conning I have troubles, so I only lower the conning a little in the hull. On the screenshot it looks like this:
Tomi_099 is the expert.

hehe...is that just the VIIB railing slapped on the VIIC? I like your idea though

It needs to have the low railing near the turret removed though.

Yes . I use the railing from VIIB, but I revorked it a little for VIIC early version.

Read with interest this post/thread reagarding conning tower
But why isn't there anybody who can put a net cutter in the front of the bow
on VIIC/IXb/C and D:hmm: Can anyone fix it:p

I did it. if You are interesting about this, then I check my PC for 3D model and if I find it, I send it to you. But this is not removable part of the boat. You must replaced all VIIC 3d model.
