British T class were nice boats.
![]() Ive been reading a book by Edwyn Grey called ''Few Survived'' (History of Submarine Disasters) where the dreadful British K Class steam submarines of the early 19th century (around 1917) were built. The K stood for killer by the crews. Men of proven courage pleaded sickness, failed to report for duty on the flimsiest of excuses, and even mutinied to avoid serving in these gargantuan death traps. Of the 21 K-boats built no fewer than 16 were involved in major accidents and 8 ended their careers on the bottom of the sea as rusting coffins. Fear the K Class ![]() http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/k_class.htm Last edited by kiwi_2005; 11-04-08 at 07:05 AM. |
