Hello all!
I got the expansion pack recently and have been playing the German Campaign. I think I am in September, 1944 when i go to deploy on a new mission, i cant figure out how to change my U-boat to the new XVIII one with the turbine. It did not show up in the start campaign window either. Does it come down the road? Is it an unlock!? Sorry if this is a double post but i searched first. Also there are no quick missions for Germans, don't know if this is how it's supposed to be or if i fibbed something up the install. Thanks! |

On second thought, i just found this:

![]() ![]() I have not played the U-Boat side much in 4 ( yet anyway ) but I am sure that someone here will have more to offer on that ![]() For mods check out the Mod's Forum for both the U-Boat side and Fleetboats. When you get enough renown in the German campaign you will eventually be able to get the sub. However, if you would rather take it for a spin now you can try some missions I put together for the German side of things. I hate tooting my own horn, but you can check the thread out here.

here is a mod which gives you the ability to get the type XVIII in the beginning of the campaign. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=132224 I have tried the XVIII and it is a lot of fun and you can outrun and outmaneuver the destroyers plus you get 6 fore tubes and a greater diving depth but you don't get a deck gun. Death was given this command after 30,000 or so tons on his first patrol. Death then went and ravaged a US Task Force in U-796 (100% realism); Death used Walter drive to plow through escorts whilst firing T V torpedoes 150/350 (?) degrees to disable/hull chasing escorts. Death then sent 2 BBs and a CA to the locker with various torps from various angles and depths (launching FaT Is at 40m. depth at sonar contacts/tracks is golden).
