I tried to fly around with the P3 and the Helicopter using my joystick and rudder pedals, and it works awfully
![]() Anyone else has experienced this? Any tricks/fixes to improve the control via joystick?

It's just the way they programmed this game. They either don't know much about programming a flight sim or didn't care to program it right for the plane.
I asked about this when the game first came out and got the same response. This is not a fligth sim. So I never really played DW that much. It's not even loaded on my hard drive anymore. I have many other games to play that are better WWII or Korean Flight sims Right now I am enjoying playing Fighter Ace 4.1 Beta which has new jets to fly. These are post WWII type jets such as the US Saber Jet and the Soviet Mig 15 Bis Jet. Also they included the B29 bomber and a nice map of Korea. They just added about 10 new planes to the game and I am having fun testing them. They still have over 100 WWII type airplanes. New dynamic weather has been added to the game and that's really cool. They did a lot of work on this game to allow many of the new computer screens to work with the game. And they cut back on the games overhead so that older computers can play now. New graphic sliders (player chosen options) can be used to tweak the screen images to help get better frame rates. I needed that big time since I have an older 1999 model dell computer that was not playing FA 3.0. But FA 4.1 uses less resources and works better with my older computer. So I can play the game again. This game has been around over ten years now. If you are new to to the game you can get a FREE ONE MONTH subscription and give it a try. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Quote:

P-3 flies like a pig. But I rarely fly it from the pilot's perspective. I usually play from the TACCO and acoustics stations, and tell my electronic "pilot" where he should steer.
I never fly the helo. Sadly, I have never been able to figure out how to fly it. Doesn't seem to matter how much RPM I give it, it never seems to generate enough torque or lift on the blades to keep it airborne. And it's totally unresponsive in flight as well. This is an area that could be improved. |

Roger that....
![]() I was interested in taking off/landing myself, plus may be doing some maneuvers that IMO the AI does not do as effectively as it could be done -or at least it appeared so when looking from outside-. Obviously the core of the sim is to man the sensors and weapons, but still it would have been fun to be able to fly realistically Thanks for the input ![]()

I would love to fly a realistic P-3 in the days prior GPS. Where you would mark MAD contacts with smoke buoys or find your sonobuoys through radio-naviagtion. Once the prosecution of a contact starts, I think there would be lots of interesting action to be had in the cockpit.
