Default SH3 crashes in loading screen.

Hi,I'm new to these forums,so let me introduce myself:I'm 14,I'm from Belgium and I've been playing Vanilla SH3 since April and downloaded GWX a couple of days ago,And man,I'm really impressed!A new world opended op to me.

I've been playing it for 2 days without problems, but when I tried to play this morning, something weird happened. The Windows start bar remains visible(clicking does not help),Then, after the opening sequence when you see the red loading bar, when the bar is about 25% red,I get an error report and the game crashes back to my destkop.

I've tried everything(Starting up the game in different ways,rebooting,..)I could think of.

The only mod I'm using is GWX 2.1.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Where you able to get the game to start with GWX2.1 at all? If so it sounds like you have some form of corruption in your user files. Try deleting your SH3 folder from My Documents and then starting again.

Welcome aboard Herr Kaluen!

Sorry to hear you are having problems. If you CTD happens before loading a saved game than I have no clue whats going on but there was a post recently about CTD on initial load. You can try to search the archives and find it. Possibly that poster solved his problem. Good luck!

Welcome aboard Kaleun Wintahs

It certainly sounds like some form of file corruption.

Did you install GWX on a clean/fresh installation of SH3 patched to 1.4b :hmm:

Click on my sig for detailed instructions on the installation technique from our GWX website.

GWX3.0 is due to be released this coming Christmas Eve and that should ensure future installations are potentially easier.

This game is trickey, Files have a habbit of messing up, So did you save before you exited out yesterday. Could be a bad save file as said before.
By the way, welcome to the fourms.

Thanks for the welcome.

Hey,Wait a minute..Yesterday,When I quit SH3 I was tired and too lazy to shut off the computer the long way,so I just did it the easy way(Holding the button,I know, bad habbit)Right after SH3 shut off,So maybe it's possible it was still configuring some stuff? If I reinstall, can I keep my carreers?Cause I don't want to lose them

I think I might just have found the problem!I'm currently copying my carreers to a different folder in case reinstalling is the the only option, and when I'm copying the carreer I'm currently playing with,It says :"Cannot remove Crew_Career 3,File damaged..blabla.."I'l try removing Crew_Carreer 3 and see if it works.
