Default Put that man on report!

You know the one. The WO who changes the watch. Right on time as usual but has no respect when we are at silent running. He has scared me to death many times as I hold my breath and wait for a destroyer to pass over the boat and all of a sudden there he is with his tea kettle whisle. Not good if you are trying to quit smoking.

Who the hell changes the watch when there are DDs overhead?

Shouldn't all crew be in general quarters?

I hardly ever go to battlestations so I guess it is a normal thing for the watch to change. It has got me several times as I have the sound peaked pretty well. Some of the voices are quite low but this guy comes in loud and clear.

I am going to start going to general quarters to see if it will work. I am not sure if it affects the escorts hearing you as far as gameplay goes, but it affects me.

You should go to general quarters every time you start an attack. That puts all your men at their stations.

Don't forget to secure afterwards though, or else you'll find your guys asleep on duty.

I dont believe that the game allows distroyers to hear anything other than prop noise. Maby torpedos reloading.

And just to be on the safe side, put the Damage Control team on hold!
(Don't know if actually helps)

The skipper maybe the one to put on report. Having the crew at general quarters would certainly resolve the crew changing issue ..if there is an issue here ..but it has been my experience that not being a general quarters while evading escorts has no effect on detection. None what-so ever. In fact keeping your crew at general quarters for extended periods of time can lead to problems far more likely to bring you to grief...

Duly noted! I should have had them on GQ. I have forgot to take them off in the past though, also I have sailed halfway across the Pacific while on silent running.

I won't even mention the time I fired a bow shot when I should have fired a stern one--torpedo missed sir! Small wonder I don't want a crowded control room with such performance.:rotfl:

I am getting better though, last patrol 10 ships, four of those in one salvo. First time I turned a convey into a small task force.
