Isn't this a crazy game?

I've been at sea for a month, patroling the US coast, only to find 3 smaller ships, and countless aircrafts. Getting bored to the death, I was preparing to leave the Caribbean, when I got the report of a convoy in ED grid. 10 tankers and ore carriers.
I was getting into the firing position, concentrated on the attack, when I noticed another two ships sailed into my visual range from the opposite direction: two big fat tankers.

After a totaly uneventful (I don't want to say boring ) month, now I'm in situation that I don't know which ship to sink first. :rotfl:

Well, since I'm already in good position, I'll attack the convoy, then sink the lonely tankers, and back to the convoy.

If I survive, of course...

I don't know, you wait for a whole month for something to happen, then it all kicks off at once!!

Personally I would whack the tankers first then hit the convoy. But seeing as I have no convoy experience, who in their right mind would listen to me?

Yup, that's how it is. To make things worse, as I was going away from the convoy, my SO detected 3 more ships speeding towards me. Fortunately, they were neutrals.

Well, I already attacked the convoy, sank Medium and Modern tanker, and damaged an Ore carrier. After that I caught the two tankers, attacked them at full speed on surface, going backwards (to save the bow torps for the convoy), and hit them. Now I waiting them to sink, or to finish them off, so I can pursue the convoy.

Happy times again!

Going backwards, by crikey!! That must be a hoochie-woochie attack plan if ever I heard one!

BDU is pleased with your progress.

Keep up the good work.

Well it worked, didn't it?

Update: I found the convoy again, sank 2 more tankers, and now I'm evading the escorts. First time I escaped undetected, and it looks like it will be the same again.

Hopefuly, I will be present at that party.
I just did my last attack on the convoy, hitting 2 Ore carriers and 2 Small tankers, each with one eel. If they all sink, that will be the end of that convoy.

This time might be a bit rough, as I have 3 DDs circling above me and pinging. . I was lucky two times, hope my luck didn't run out on me...

I know exactly what you mean. March 1942, mid Atlantic-South of Iceland, U-456 has been at sea 6 weeks(last 2 weeks of 2nd patrol and first 4 weeks of 3rd patrol) between sightings of anything except aircraft. I mean no contact reports or convoys, nothing! I started to wonder if there was a bug in my game. I finally picked up a lone Liberty ship and she took four fish to go down. 3 hits and one dud.
