! was in the hobby shop the other day to get a bottle of paint, when I found this:
![]() http://modelingmadness.com/scotts/w1...kerpreview.htm I bought it immedetely! A nice little kit. I have a nice collection of WWI planes, and the eindecker is one of my favorite. The kit cost was under $7, so it's a great deal.

Looks pretty cool! I usually go 1/72nd scale for planes, and I was looking into a WWI plane in that scale but I thought they were a bit teeny. Its amazing how much bigger an F-14 is than a Sopwith Camel!

Because of my friend's 3D airwar game played with models, we all have fairly impressive collections of kits, including several of those old Revells. Vac-U-Form kits give a much greater variety of planes to work with, and I have been known to put out the occassional scratchbuild. Companies like Toko and Meikraft have been making superior kits for several years, but they are more delicate and require more work.
The Revell Eindekker has been the basis for several of my conversions, including the twin-row rotary E-IV and several different Pfalz variants. It's a fairly basic kit, but a classic. Oop, found it. Fully rigged. ![]()

The only other Eindecker kit I've seen is by Eduard, and it's a spendy one >$30 and it's a 1/48 scale with photo etched parts.

What I enjoy is building even earlier planes, like the Caudron G.IV.

Are those kits or from scratch?

First is a Rumpler C-4 being attacked by a Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter which is in turn being followed by a Rumpler C-1. The Strutter and C-1 are mine. ![]() Second is the Caudron again, being escorted by a Neiuport N.10 and a Morane 'L' Parasol, both two-seat fighters, and both vacuform kits. ![]() And the above shot after a little Photoshop editing. ![]() I have about 30 planes in my WWI wargaming collection, and another 30 or so kits waiting to be built, plus around 100 planes for WWII and Korea, with an equal number unbuilt. About 12 years ago I lost over 500 kits, a lot of them quite rare, when the garage they were in burned down.
