Default Fire on units doesn't cause a damage increasing (?)

Hi to all, I read somewhere a tip by GWX team about fires on units. It seems that the fire doesn't increase the damage to the unit.

So, is it possible in your opinion make a minimod to modify this fire's behaviour on hitted unit?

thx!

yes that would be quite cool.... last patrol i came home to bergen with:
HMS Rodney sunk
HMS Nelson burning
HMS Illustrious burning

if fire caused some damage, i would now have ~100.000 tons sunk on one patrol

yeah.. just think a fire on a tanker! or a merchant carring wood.. a fire on board should be more effective!

Adjust the Zones.cfg

Firesmall, FireMedium, FireBig sections.
Add this

Critical=Yes
Critical Chance=0.05
FloodingTime=600

See what happens.
Adjust to taste.

Was this added on GWX 2.1?

And why not?

Not all ships that were burning sunk in RL
IF you allow all ships that are burning to eventually sink consider this
Fire two rounds against any ship so it catches fire
And steer away
Eventually it will sink and you will get credit
Not very realistic either IMHO

With a few AA rounds in the right place you could take down any size ship in the above way
Meh

Well... the main part of a ship is made of iron and steel, and it can't catch on fire. So I think it's pretty hard for a ship to sink if it has no damage, only fire.

Yep i did this with the old cargo steamers carrying some sort of mathazard stuff. After punching a big old hole with the deckgun i fired with the flakgun of a IXb into it and it bust into flames sinking fast.
