It's official - no more Filefront for my mods

They claim I uploaded copyrighted music. No warning or chance for me to argue otherwise was given. They just wiped out everything, not just the music.

So starting next week, I'll see about other hosting for my stuff. I don't know if it'll include the music, if there is some dispute about it. I honestly believed these were all PD, but I don't want to risk getting another host or myself in trouble again if I can help it. But on the other hand, what good are the radio stations without music?

I hope you find a new host for your mods and of course the music. You have made my patrols that much more enjoable that it would be a shame if that were lost.
I guess filfront just saw that you have a lot of mp3s and deleted them without investigating...

I asked which files, and if I removed them, could my account be restored. So far no reply.

Since I don't know which files it was, I'm wondering since some of those files had been up almost a year, that it's a case of someone downloading a file and filing a complaint. I just don't think it was suddenly a case of FF finding out there were songs in those files.

Fred,

You should first ask them to point out which files were in violation before askimg for re-instatement. If they provide you the requested information, you can then research it yourself, and if they are correct in their choice, then you can maybe open a line of communication. If you find you were wrongfully deleted from the site, then you have a valid arguement.

But seeing these audio files are 60 plus years old, I think a little bit rediculous to see them at FF take the stance they have. I mean it's not like you were doing it for profit. It is an add-on for a darn WWII era submarine simulator.

If they don't respond to you, then they are nothing more than a bunch of dictatorial jerks. Who have too much power at their fingertips.

If you have a problem with all this...then thank a trial lawyer and a congressman who enabled him...

You don't really think Filefront would risk fighting a court battle just so you can post mp3s? Court battles cost a hefty chunk of money...and I doubt Filefront is getting rich from hosting for us...
