I was a little worried myself about updating to SP3 but finally bit the bullet and updated after doing some back-ups of my game files.

Went ahead and did it and have had no problems whatsoever for the past 2 weeks.

I upgraded to SP3 without even thinking about it or doing anything special and it's all good.

Same here. I got a message saying it was ready for download, and I did it without wondering whether I should. Works fine, no problems.

It downloaded automatically. I do perceive longer load times on older software (in general) despite doing my best to keep things clean and ship shape. Sim runs fine.

There was a thread not too long ago in the General section. Mixed bag with some people reporting problems; others not. Although IIRC the drift was more in the direction of it being problematic. I've steered clear of it.

Yes I can vouch that SP3 is great, SP1 was good, SP2 was crap but SP3 is great, I went from SP1 to 3! Does anyone know, if I had to build a new system, can you go from basic XP straight to SP3?

Yes!!
Build a new system and install any version of XP.
Upon connection update to Service pack 3!!

I got to Beta test SP 3 way back!!

Nearly 6 months before release!!!
If you don't have it?

GWX 2.0 and up was tested on my system with the SP3 Pre-release!!
Betcha didn't know that.

I have some friends on SP3 at XP, it gives alot of bugs and problems this time. What the hell is Microsoft doing? First Vista sucks and second the service packs are messed up in XP.
