Default Thank you all modders :)

Having been away from the game for 3 years I just want to say thanks for all the work from you guys to improve this game. I'm addicted again. And to think my vacation ends in two days! I dont know what i will do

Great thing was in my GWX 2.1 campaign that im now doing, early march 1940 i ran into a taskforce by chance with HMS hood and another huge battleship (i forget the class). So I paralleled them and ran ahead, set up in ambush position, evaded the meager escort and fired a 4 torpedo spread on the Hood. That got her!!! Then i had three destroyers after me (one charing and 2 laying in wait) so I went deep and silent and they finally gave up. What a rush! And all those little lifeboats around the Hood were cool too Rubini

And all accompanied by a great soundtrack thanks to Lutzow!

Here some shots to show what I'm enjoying.

The other battleship starts to panic while Hood is going down!

Task Force leaves the survivors behind!

Observing the special effects (thank you onelifecrisis!)

Thanks for the resupply ship! Great customer service!

Leaving a sinking merchant behind

Another one to the bottom

Harbour is so much more active now... And the Kiel canal is there!!!

So again: thanks to you all. Now I just wish i could get the resolution fix to work so I can post bigger screenshots. Now I'm reducing em to 800x600 cause of the jaggies! ewww (yes this last paragraph is a sneaky plea for help :P )

What do you need help with?

The Rez Fix or the AA/AF settings on your GFX card?

The res fix. I have a file called SH3_XPSP2_Res_Fix_for_1.4b.zip.

It's got 5 files in it
d3d9.cfg
d3d9.dll
shiii.db
sp2 rez fix install.bat
sp2 rez fix uninstall.bat

The readme says to put the last three files in the SH3 dir and run the install bat. And only says the first two files are included "in case you dont have them"? But i dont know what to do with em.

I searched a bit on the forums and someone wrote that the bats werent needed, just put those first two files in your main dir. Well i tried that and it was CTD time haha

So I gave up (not the Kaleun spirit i know )

If you could clearly tell me what to do with these five files (and then i put 1600x1200 in my Main.cfg file i presume?) I would be most grateful!

Regarding the FSAA: I read on the forum that NVIDIA cards have a problem generating white triangles with FSAA on. This happens indeed so i turned it off.

In the downloaded archive you have:

d3d9.cfg
Readme.txt
SHIII.sdb
SP2 Rez Fix Uninstall.bat
SP2 Rez Fix.bat

Copy ALL of these into the SH3 Program Folder.

1) Run SP2 Rez Fix.bat
2) Then open d3d9.cfg & set the resolution & screenshot path.

That's it, your finished.

FYI - using the fix you must use Prt Scr to capture the images.

Ok!

Once i finish my current patrol i will try it. You dont mention the d3d9 DLL file, is it not needed? Or should it also be in the main SH3 folder?

I see from your Hood shots that you have the lifeboats mod.

Yes it is, and so are the locks at both ends.

Do you have that one yet? Adds a lot to the feel of the place.

O yeah i got the lifeboats! They kick butt indeed

As for the locks... Ehhhh: maybe? I mean the area looks like what you posted but there are no ACTUAL working locks. And i dont have a "lock mod", just GWX and OLCS mainly so i guess it's included in there ?

BTW I think i finally have your loadscreens mod working. I was a little stupid before and dragged the mod into JGSME rather than to the SH3commander random folder... no wonder nothing happened... lol Gonna fire up the game now and it should work this time

No, the locks are a separate mod; they don't come with GWX. And you're right, they don't have the actual locks; but then most of the stuff in Kiel is completely wrong anyway, so that part doesn't bother me - they're just cool to have. Lots of ambience.

Try this (install via JSGME)....this will also give you a few extra AA ships.
