Bloody Heck Not Good

I have just committed the second worst crime for the first time ever!

Patrolling in grid AF41 Dec 17th 1942 I came across a small convoy just in range of my T1 ells at night so I selected the best target that of a Medium Cargo and let loose. Just like to add there were no lights on any the ships. Any how direct hit and my crew were silent, smelling something was wrong and indeed there was. The map show me one sunken ship in Blue, are nuts now I'm in for it. For the next 24 hours the Fins are not on good terms with me.

What did they bloody expect I ask you? Sitting there no lights rather near the UK come on its like waving a Red flag to a Bull.

Looks like I got to write a long winded apology letter to Marshal Mannheim.

fair game i think

you could always say that you had obviously overestimated the speed of the convoy and the eels passed ahead of the british ship you were targeting and hit the fin

Your actually running the same date as me at the moment, air patrols are getting thick now, had to return to base due to my conning tower being destroyed!

This is one of the things were the game is unrealistic, in wartime it was perfectly OK to sink any darkened ships sailing together with an enemy convoy, no matter what nationality it had, it shouldn't have been there to begin with. U-boat captains rarely had the opportunity to check such things, they assumed automatically that whoever sailed with an enemy convoy is actually an enemy.

Sounds like a righteous kill so maybe forward the Marshal's letter to the Flotilla CO and avoid that trip to Berlin. Then wake up...
