Default [WIP] War Progress Radio Messages

Hey guys,
This is just a follow-up of this original post.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=140528

I spent about half of a day trying to put this together and so far I have created radio messages only form August 1 to December 31 1939... The radio message is in a form of summary of events of the day released by OKW always at 23:01.
IMO it increases the immersion in the game, making you feel that while you are deployed on a patrol there is actually war going on...

I didn't feel like making it JSGME friendly (it is just single txt file). Just copy the file into your SHIII\Data\Campaign\Campaigns (make sure you make a backup of the original file)

Considering the amount of time required to finish the whole course of war I would like to get an oppinions from you guys before I proceed any further. How many of you would like to see mod like this finished and what do you think abut what I have done so far?

Let me know.
THX

download (August 1, 1939 - December 31, 1941): http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?vflfow9mmoo

Forgot to mention: It is GWX 2.1 file but I think it should work with any version of SH3

Looks GOOD!

I like the way it reads. General war information is a good thing to have.

I'll certainly use it if you finish it. But, even if I didn't I would still encourage you. Don't do it because it will be accepted - do it because you want to. I have been working on something similar for months now, and while the initial release will be soon, it won't actually be finished for a couple more years.

Oh, and don't worry when I say it's similar; it's not a radio message mod - it's just similar in that it involves a lot of research and typing for not a lot of real benefit.

Keep up the good work!

Do these 'reports' duplicate anything in RL_E's reports, intercepts, & msg's?

I don't know the details of your mod, but it sounds very much like either Lehmann International News (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=136899), or WB News Network (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=138030).

Both of these mods contain a summary of RL events in WW2 via radio messages that are received by your U-boat.

Speaking for myself, I find such mods a huge imersion factor, which gives the feeling that your sub is not alone in the world and there is a war going on. Bottom line, yes, I sure want to see your mod finished

Excellent work, conus00, but if it's for SH4 it should be in the SH4 threads.

I didn't even notice that part until you mentioned it.

My mistake - it's the original link that conus00 is referring to (post #1). Some in depth info on WW2 in message format.
