Default SH3 Commander and S class subs

Hi everyone.

Today I sank HMS Stygian (S class), 767 tons, but my SH3Commander listed it in merchant section instead of warships in summary table.
I think it's not right. It should go to warships

AND

When I opened my Personnel File I can't see the tonnage for S-class sub (767 tons) counted in. Only when I hit on patrol number to see details I can see tonnage summary with S class sub. So for instance Personnel File gives me total tonage like this:
1819MAR41 - 31MAR41 (13 days)2 (2/0)4429 (4429/0)

While Captains log shows:

Patrol results
Crew losses: 0
Ships sunk: 3
Aircraft destroyed: 0
Patrol tonnage: 5196 tons

U need to focus on 18 patrol

Hope it helps to see what I mean

Pardon for low quality

Offtopic issue but related to SH3 Commander:

When I received German cross in gold it is not showned in the Personnel file medals section. But I see it in the game though..

I'm using the latest version 3.1.3.185

I see u not quite understood what I wanted to say
Ok here we go again:

When I sank S-class sub and opened my Personnel_File.html it's sunken tonnage was not included in the quantity of that patrol, copy that ? Look at my both screenshots and analyze my 18-th patrol. I can't find an explanasion to myself so far how come Personnel_File.html (4429 tons) results are different from my Log_17.html (5196 tons)which is my 18-th patrol details (where ship names are)

I see what you mean - I sunk 15 in pic above but ingame only show 14
1 warship and 13 merchant
No sub

I guess as sub AI was never in game

Look SH3\data\cfg\Careers and you career

Look Log_* of patrol - S class is there yes

Look Patrols_* and no submarine in there to choose

You can alter tonnage but look like order and names in menu_en file
No space to add submarine to list as no empty numbers

Edit your patrol logs with JScones' handy-dandy Patrol Log Editor!

Note in post #36 I used it to make some rather extravagant claims...

A Subsim colleague alerted me to this thread (and a few others it seems) and as the answer is painfully simple for me, I will answer it now.

Simply, SH3 (ie not GWX OR SH3Cmdr) does not record the details of submarines sunk in career files. In patrol logs, yes; but career files no. And IIRC this extends to the associated renown as well.

I alerted the GWX team to this problem a loooong time ago (I think I may have even still been on the team), but either they couldn't figure out a work-around (I naively suggested classing enemy submarines as a kind of warship, but dunno if that was feasible), or they simply ignored me.

Either way, this is a problem that ALL GWX users will encounter and one that the GWX team has to address. All SH3Cmdr does is report what it finds; whether it is right or not is left up to each mod to work out. The only "error correction" that SH3Cmdr applies relates to known stock issues.

I wouldn't expect a fix for the problem now.

Erm, your Personnel File image shows you as receiving the German Cross on 26 Dec 1939?! :hmm:

Hi JScones, nice to hear from you,

Acctually I was waiting for your attention to this thread

The German Cross I received prety early. when I sunk Auxilary Cruiser.

Later in my career I got German cross in gold, which is seen in the game (the box where all the medals goes ). But I am missing a line in SH3Cmd reporting this event

I will make a screenshot probably tomorrow, since I got back from holiday resort at seaside couple of hours ago, so feeling kind of lazy to do anything

BTW. Water temperature at Baltic Sea today was 19C, so after hunting for biggest waves I'm kind of washed-out and now heading to check my bunk space

Later..

I believe German cross and German cross in gold are two different medals ? Couldn't find (in game patrol history) on what patrol I exactly got it but here it is
