Default Starship troopers 3

This movie sucks. Would you like to know more?

Seriously, why make a third one? The first one was ok, I liked it just because I felt like watching bugs getting their asses kicked, but it wasn't what I considered "sequel worthy".

I think the best part of the first movie was just the opening theme when they invade the planet, after that Denise Richards terrible acting just made the rest of the movie sub par
.
Thoughts?

First film was fun in a comic-book-war sort of way. I understand that a lot of Heinnlein fans were mightily pissed off with the film, I suppose they would have been better off changing the title, moving it away from the book (which I haven't read).
I dimly remember a straight-to-video sequel, so i'm not going to bother with this one

The book is actually really good, way different then the movie. Apparently the director of the first film read one chapter of the book, decided he didn't like it much, and proceed to change the entire thing. Maybe if they titled it "Bug Wars" or something no one would have cared.

The CGI was terrible too, toy story had better animations then ST 3.

That book was one of my all time favoite Sci Fi books. Robert Heinlen is a CLASSIC sci fi writer. I don't even think the people who made the movie even READ the book ! I think they read the description on the back of the book and wrote it from that. The story wasn't even REMOTELY the same !!!

Imagine going to see a movie made of the book War and Peace only to see Star Wars once the movie starts rolling.
That's what this piece of trash movie was like for me. There was no armor, no Skinnies, one of the characters was even made female because the director felt it needed some T&A and romance in it.

This director and everyone involved in that movie basically took a big dump on a really classic piece of sci-fi literature. Unfortunately, the effect this will have is that it will turn people who saw the movie first away from trying to read the book which is a really fantastic book !!!

After being subjected to other movies (A.K.A Duds!) that had Casper Van Dien in a "starring" role, I refuse to watch anything he is acting in!

Anyone who has had the misfortune to watch Dracula 3000 would understand (that's if anyone survived the movie!)

EDIT : just found a bit of trivia on Starship troopers 2, it was made for 5% what the first cost!

Right now me and a friend are on a quest to watch as many bad movies as possible, this is on our list. Last week was Shark Attack:3 Megalodon, Unseen Evil 2 and Dinocroc.

They were all rubbish and that is a fact.

The second one went straight to Video/DVD and it was bloody awful crap. I hold no hope what so ever for the third one and I will make no effort to watch it what so ever.

Have you actually seen this movie? I haven't heard anything about a third one (first was horrible, second was....well, amazingly horrible), and now I just watched the trailer, and well, it looks more like a parody than anything else. Because, quite seriously, who would put money on such a project?!

First was good. Second one was a joke but had some interesting things in it. I guess the budget had a big part in that...

Third one? I don't know I hope its good.:hmm:

ST1 is still one of my favorite movies.
ST2 was crap, but I gave it one star as it had nice boobies. :hmm:
ST3... well... anything is good after ST2. :p It was ok, but it's one of those movies you really have to be a fan of to like it. Kinda like Hitman, for someone who have never played the games, it's just another average action movie, but for a Hitman fan, it's Gooooooooooddd. Oh, and it has much lower budget compared to the ST1, this partically can be seen in special effects & CGI.

PS. The Sky Marshall's song KICKS ASS!!! :rotfl:

EDIT:

OW! Forgot something about ST3. The battle in the end has to be one of the cheesiest moments in movie history! I laughed and cried hysterically at it. :rotfl:

SPOILER WARNING!!!

You know, the part where the stewardess and the starship commander start to pray and Rico & Co. arrive to save the two in their shiny armored suits. WHAT THE FRICK WAS THAT!? And the picture over picture stuff showing the 2 pray and in the background Rico and the others making kebab of the Arachnids? Fooooocking hilarious!! I just hope it was intentional.

EDIT2: Heeere's the scene:

I felt like gouging out my eyes watching that scene, it was so terrible(and so is that song lol). I really don't get the whole religious thing, was that even necessary? Why do you like that song dowly? Its terrible! I really hope they have better music in the future than that !
