Default Panama Canal??

I am about to re-arm and refuel from a milk cow, and was trying to decide where to go next. Its Sept of '43. I was thinking about heading to Panama, has anyone patroled that area? If so hows the hunting?

Ahhhhhh.....Panama, a shortcut with a national anthem. I wouldn't go all that way if they had a 70,000 ton tanker with targets painted on it. Too far.

So far away, so many tankers, so little time!

I recommend going to the canal, just because I haven't been there!

I was just in the Caribbean in July 1943. The area around Trinidad was hot, Caracas sucked, and Puerto Rico was pretty quiet other than two convoys that I missed. I have no idea about the Panama Canal.

And also a very good radio station: "Panama Canal Zone", a military radio station I presume.
I was at Panama Canal in january 1973, waitting for enter into the canal(en route to Ecuador and Peru), and I could not sleep all night long due the excellent music on this radio !
A very good remember for me(except the day after in the engine room where I was so tired lol).

For tankers in SH3, where is the best zone ?
I met a lot near Natal recently but maby more elsewhere ?
