OK....Silly question....depth.....How....

How do I go deeper than 450?

IN real life the depth guage on the Balao's pegged out at 612.

I'm not positive, but I "think" if you hiy D (to dive) you can go deeper and then hit A to level out. It's been a while since I've been that deep as I've been testing early war stuff, mainly using S-Boats.

I like your signature :hmm:. I've got a book about Manitowoc subs and how they were uniquely constructed. They wound up being some of the most sturdy boats in the Pacific and had great reputations.

Cheers!

My experience with 1.4, TMO, RSRD is that you can't go lower than 450'. It sure won't let me. If I select with the pointer 450' or a little past it it will take me to 448 or so. If I press D for further dive the boat starts back up. I've tried it a few times with no luck. The funny thing is, you used to be able to. I don't know if it is a 1.4 thing or a mod thing, but I can't get lower now.

Thank you Sir! The funny thing is my Wife says "Hammerhead" suits me to a T and the CO of the actual Hammerhead was a LTCD Martin. Martin is my first name!

Bogus isn't it? Dick O'Kane regularly went to 550'.

I'm going to look around for a depth mod.

Shift + D sets "Dive plane to deep dive".

You can then press D when below test depth to return to test depth.

Yes, just press A to maintain depth when you are at the desired depth, but remember you will slip a few feet below the depth you desired before returning. I generally press A about 5 feet before im at my desired depth and then press A again when I'm at the depth, This serves to begin leveling your dive planes so when you do reach the depth you want and press A again, your planes will be very close to level.

Hope this helps.

And going to 1000 feet is far to unrealistic for my tastes....but to each his own.

Good Hunting

Yeah..........No fleet boats made it to 1000. I think the deepest recorded was 720.
