Default No shooting on to the periscope?

Hi! I am playing in 1941 now, it all seems to go well with one small glitch. Please i'm not complaining the game is too easy. Oh i'm playing GWX 2.1. So the situation is no matter how i circle around depth charge depleted destroyers in broad day light at periscope depth and with it fully extended i don't get shot at it. Please share you thoughts. Thank you.

A screenshot would help to describe precisely what the conditions are.

Off the top of my head (and without any real detail, light, weather etc).....it will get harder when escort crews reach veteran and elite status.

Dunno,

I have never experienced that. I have had many merchant shipping shoot way too accurately at my periscope though. And I believe I have had warships shoot at it also.

Visibility: awesome
Sea: calm

and lets just say i need to lower the periscope to avoid collisions, that how near the two frigates are. I'm ok with it though, i rarely abuse this despite not being the most realistic person playing SH3 GWX 2.1

It might be you are too close to them and they can't lower their guns far enough to get a shot at you?:hmm:

I stayed at periscope in those condition dead in the water, they still failed any attempt at shooting. I also tried and succeeded in going after a convoy, infiltrating in the middle and then proceed to full flank periscope up in the water and taking manual snap shots at merchants. I wonder if i screw up the GWX installation, is it a possibility? What files control the AI behavior?

Might just be that the escorts aren't that experienced and their reactions aren't that great. I've had that happen and I've had every gun in the convoy turned on me. Don't worry you'll get yours

I`ve had my scope shot at a lot of times, before I can get under. Sometimes they hit it, even had it destroyed in it`s armor housing several times.

You could try surfacing, that usually gets their attention
