I think that it would be pretty boring having to sail out to some godforsaken grid square & waiting around in hopes that, eventually, somebody comes by needing fuel and/or torpedoes. The only excitement that you'd get would be trying to dodge enemy aircraft or warships. You would most likely end up being sunk as Type XIV's were slow & difficult to handle. Not much of a fun gaming experience I think...
