Default Catalyst 8.6 Drivers

Anyone else tried these? I had no trouble with the 8.1 thru 8.5 drivers, but the 8.6 drivers totally fubar all my games. In fact any 3D app at all will lockup my machine with this piece of crap update!

Thank god for drivercleaner.NET

Back to 8.5 for me... and my first ever email to ATI has been sent.

(P.S. I have an X800 XT)

Yes, I have had to stop updating my drivers on both of my computers.

I actually have to keep my drivers back at 8.4 as any of the Catalyst drivers beyond that totally FUBAR my games as well.

Well, I don't mean to wizz on the wizz on ATI party, but The latest drivers are working out better then the previous drivers off dvd.
This is for the ATI 3200 video on a 780G NB / SB700 S/B chipset.
Better frames, slightly cooler N/B. Wiped the video driver slate clean before install of course. Even punching some AA. If I had an older card or a different chipset, could be another story.
Now, taking a look at what it cost for a honkin 3870 or Nvidia GT plus a new PSU to deal with it - I can't blame anyone for wanting to get the most out of the video they got.
