Default Engine sound drops off...

I've had an irritating ongoing issue with SH III ever since I started playing the stock game early last year. If I'm on the surface & I switch to external view (ship cam: I like to watch my boat sometimes, especially with the GWX improved models ) and then return to the bridge the engine's sound will sometimes die off but all other sounds remain normal. I can restore my engine sound by adjusting my speed. Is this a known issue with the game & is there any other solution to it besides fiddling with the speed?

Thanks.

Who picks these avatars? Yikes! "She" looks like someone from my neighbourhood...

I don't know but that's my uncle. He became Transvestite several years ago.

To answer your first question, I don't know. Maybe you should update your sound drivers?

Hi,

My sound has also always done that . I found the quickest way to fix it is to just change views (usually to the control room and then back to the bridge, or wherever you were when the sound died out).

What type of sound card do you have if you don't mind my asking?

Dale

It's one of those Sygma Tel integrated sound cards. It was bundled with the pc when I bought it from Dell last year. It's not great I know, but I wasn't given a choice of sound card when I customized the system. I've been thinking about it & it's probably one of the many issues that SH III has; very directional sound, instability if you save a game while submerged, screwed up weather, etc. Thank God for GWX. I don't think that I'd bother with the game if it wasn't for that add-on.
