Other compartments mod

Ahoy,
I'm just curious with all the talent amongst the people here why nobody has ever made a mod that allows access to the other compartments of the boats. B

It is possible to make the interior bigger, however there are lots of issues.
Not least the inability to add new lights.

The biggest problem is probably the amount of time and work such a task would entail.
