I typically hunt with the hydrophone when driving a sub, and it is my understanding that audio contacts don't count when hitting the contact report button. But since I've been playing with the Schnellboot mod, I've had plenty of opportunities to send in reports after a visual encounter. But only a small percentage of the time do I see a "contact report sent" message in my radio screen. I know a single ship contact won't generate the report, but I've sent it in when in close to various convoys, but only a few times have I seen the sent message. And even if I don't see the message, does BdU still get the transmission and then perhaps call in any friendlies in range? GWX 2.1 if that makes a difference.

You need to be within visual range when sending and also be able to read the sent message to ensure it was actually sent.
Was your radio man at half strength or better ? :hmm: |
