Default VIIC Crew config

Hi!

Does anyone have knowledge of the crew configuration on german u-boats? How many men did they carry, and what was their tasks aboard? I'm especially interested in the VII-boats, since I'm currently commanding one of them.

I would like to give my crewmembers realistic qualifications using the commander, but haven't found any source that has info about the real crew config. Uboat.net gives some hints, but not a complete list.

I know that the radio personnel consisted usually of 2 mates and 2 seamen.

Thanks!

Thank you for the link. I tried to read between the lines, and after several hours of work I have achieved following results.

A VIIC may have had during the first half of the war:

-4 officers (Cmdr, IWO, IIWO, LI)
-17-18 souls belonging to engine and motor crew
-4 radio operators
-4-5 torpedo mechanics
-a doctor
-a cook
-a navigator (senior NCO)
-2 bosuns
-8 people belonging to control room personnel

=42-44 men

If someone has more accurate information, please share with us!

One cook to prepare meals for 44 people all shifts, every single day by himself.

Now that's a hero

When did that poor slob ever get a chance to sleep?
