Default New install?

I am running at the moment and loving it
PE 3.3 +patch
RSRDC 1.5+ patch
TMO 1.5+patches

Can I install another version of SH4 and rename it's d/l folder so I can try other mods?.
I know I will have to rename it to maybe SH4A and also the Save folder as well but will there be any conflicts on the same hard drive

There's a good program that's called MultiSH4 that allows you to do just that and avoid conflicts. I have used it to play American subs on one and German U-boats on the other. That way you can have one version in English and the other in German for example.
I don't have the link, but you can search for it on this forum. Good Luck.

Thanks for your advice

Yes, I've seen MultiSh3, didn't know it was there for SH4. I forgot to say I wanted to install on my second hard drive, whether it could cause problems!

Another great program that I use myself is The JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...5/m/5181035206 Saves alot of headaches and if I want to play a German sub or American sub I can change very easy with this program for Trigger.

I have SH4 1.5 installed on my C:\ drive, with MODs related to UBoat operations, such as the German Speech pack, OP Monsoon campaign, etc

I have a second installation of SH4 1.5 on my D:\ drive (partition drive) with MODs related to US Fleet Boat operations, such as RSRDC campaign for 1.5, 2RTR US Periscope v1.1, etc, PoulEnglishSpeech MOD, 'US Period and In-Game Loading Screen' MOD, etc.

With both of the above, I enable the 'W_Clear's Environment Effects' Mod. [I cannot run SH4 1.5 with the Pacific Environment MODs] Note that when I say a second "installation" I do not mean going thru the entire 'installation process'! I simply copy over all the SH4 folders from the first install on the C:\ drive to D:\ drive, then make the desired changes, MOD additions/subtractions, etc. Then, of course, I use the SH4.exe file in each respective SH4 root folder to activate the desired Game. I have the three shortcut icons on my desktop so i can run whichever I choose easily. I also have a separate JSGME application for each version, also with a shortcut icon for each on my desktop.

Finally, I have a third installation of SH4 (1.4 version) also installed on my D:\ drive, with the PE Mods and RSRDC campaign for 1.4, etc.[PE3 works fine for me with 1.4]

Note that all versions/installations use the same Documents\SH4\data\cfg\ folders for Saved Game files, Config files such as Graphic Options, etc. When I save a game/mission, I just make sure that I name it according to the version of SH4 I am playing: "UB yada yada yada" or US yada dada yada" or 14 yadeedadadoo" When I load a version, I make sure I only try to re-load Saved Games appropriate for that version.

I was unable to install/use the MultiSH4 application...I had major problems/CTD's etc when I tried, twice......I'm sure it was some error on my part, but not worth trying to set it all up again...so I make do as described above. From what I've read on these forums, most other folks have success with MultiSH4.
