I am trying to install SH III on to my new PC that has Vista Home 32-bit. It will install SH III but won't patch it with 1.4b so that I can install GWX. I get error mesages stating that mission.dll is an unknown version. if I remove that file I then get the same error with SH III.exe file. The version I have of SH III is the "Focus" one without starforce copy protection. I purchased it recently because my old disc with copy protection was starting to play up. Any ideas as my new PC has good specs and it's frustrating not being able to use GWX 2.1.

As I understand it you cannot install it in default (Program Files).

This was asked by other Vista users yesterday in General Topics or SHIII Topics.

We both have Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit...us and whoever else should have gotten Windows XP!

did you buy it recently because it think more recent versions are pre-patched to 1.4b i found that with my version anyway

Thanks ECAaxel you are indeed correct it is already patched.

Hopefully When I continue with the GWX install I won't get any more probs
