Default Priveleges to play???

Right now I do not have any GWX installed, just regular SH3. When I click on the SH3 icon a popup comes up and says "You need Administrator Priveleges to install."...but it is already installed. I am using Windows Vista for the first time...so any tips will be appreciated!

I dont have vista but I think you need to have it in any other folder
than program files to work, its a common problem try a forum search
for vista that will likely turn it up fastest.

try right clicking on the icon and from the list that comes up select "Run as Administrator".

if that isnt there you need to go into your user settings and make your account the admin account.

Friends don't let friends use Vista.

Good luck with it! Gord96 is probably right here

Is there a reason you aint using GWX?

Playing SH3 without GWX is like having sex without any Tabasco sauce!

oops did I type that or was I just thinking that?

To be honest i felt that window 98 or window xp would be the best. Window 98 doesnt run alot of programs like security and so you would not end with error message or permission! Windows Xp runs security software so it is a bit complicated.
Yet i have not the vista version, but i heard people got serious problem when they want to play a game!

FYI I have Vista Home Premium 32-bit & I have no problems with installing or running SH III, GWX or SH3 Cmdr. For Vista Users: install the game to a folder other than the default "Program Files". Vista puts some restrictions on saved files within that folder. And, as previously stated, right click on the SH3 icon and select "run/install as administrator". Also be sure to get the Starforce driver update if you have an older version of SH III with Starforce. Without that update the game will not run under Vista.

This computer is brand new, just bought, so my account is the administrator account and the only account on this computer...so I guess I'll just make another folder out of program files.

If you already have installed SHIII and GWX to program files can it be moved to another location without uninstalling?

I am running Vista and have had no problems except that I cannot find screenshots.

Currently, I'm trying to install Starforce..it is not compatible. I saw a thread above that said Windows Vista Users..and it gave me a Starforce link to install it, now it gives me problems because it isn't zipped or whatever. Is there another link to this Starforce program?
