salute!
1st of all read this thread, if you havent already:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=96026

- i found it very helpful.

as was this thread:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=132596

- this thread is essential, especially the 1st post and the "how to" links given in it. once youve read these scroll down the list of available files, to the "utilities" section, and download and install JSGME. this software is what you use to enable and disable mods. while youre at it, download and install SH3Commander as well.

i dont use uniform mods myself but, from what ive read, venatore's would be a good place to start, and hes a prolific and well respected modder:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=103714

if you read through the links above you will find better and more clear advice than i can give you. i found it pretty straightforward, and there are plenty of people around who will help u further if you need it. just remember to read the "home" thread for each mod.
good luck

StarLion45,

Don't worry matey we will get you up and running. Ok first things first. To help members I've kept all my mods contained within the one thread called "Venatore's Drive Through". This makes it very easy to keep track of my mods as they come out. On the very first page of my Drive Through Thread is a list of all my mods and what pages they can bee located.

All my mods with there respective download links are contained at another site called "BEYOND THE SHADOWS". I do this to help small web-sites who love SHIII out so they can enjoy the increased membership.

Now for the download part. I always; as do most modders if not all, will always create their mods that are JSGME compatible, this means by placing the un-zipped mod into the following folder it will work;

Program Files/Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/MODS

Once you have dumped the mod in that folder you then need to activate it, this is how;

Start JSGME, a screen will appear with two columns. On the left are the mods that haven't been activated and on the right the ones that are active. All you do is click on the mod on the left and click the button in the middle with the icon of this >

That mod should now transfer across to the right.

Close everything and start the game.

If there are still doubts let us know

Wow, never heard about a uniform-mod before. Then again, there are so many...

Can we have tea-cozies on our heads, instead of the regular caps 'n hats?
