CTD help please

Hi guys.
until today my installation has been working fine. ive not played for a coupla days cos ive been too busy surfing subsim . i am in my 1st GWX2.1 patrol, and like i said, until today it has been working fine. heres my mods:

GWX2.1
AOTD-AA-Ship-Schleuse-Bugfix
OLCE2
GWX2.1 Mission Orders
GWX2.1 Warning Orders
+ various optional GWX mods (integrated orders, etc)

the problem is, when i go to the messages screen (M), and click on the last message ive received to open it, thats when the game ctd's. this hasnt happened before today and im jiggered if i know what could be causing it. the only significant changes to my machine since i last played are an upgrade from AVG7.5 to 8.0, and a coupla automatic updates. i dont know why that would affect the game tho. ive tried a forum search and, as ever (at least when i try! :p), no luck.
so if any of you have had a simliar problem, or just know what could be causing it, any help would be much appreciated.
