Default Lighthouse & Sun shining through objects.

Hi, this has been problem from stock & still exists, the sun when setting or rising can shine through heads, especially the WO's hat, and when I moded the sun to be smaller it is more noticable, when the sun is larger than the persons head it is not so bad, the overall glare covers it up. The point is that once it is about a half inch above horizon the problem is not there.
The lighthouse is even more of a pain, I can't even find the light tga file, thought it might be the lighthalo.tga but no, the light shines through anything except some certain shrubs, this problem has been attacked before with no success, so I'm just wondering if it can be re-examined since there has been some large break throughs lately by some very skillful moders.

I thought there was already a mod to fix this. It fixed the lighthouse light from shining through solid objects. It came out about the same time as Better Looking Hands mod. Last place I remember seeing it, was at UBRS(Oh how I would love to have access to that site again).

I believe this problem also afflicts lighting too. Lighting bolts appear to "shine" through ships at sea during bad weather/storms (at least that's what I've seen on many occasions in stock SH3 and GWX). I don't have or know of a solution for this but I thought that I'd bring it up.

@ Tuddley3, yes an attempt was made I think but only for men on conning tower I think or was it to stop the lights in command room shining through men, what ever I don't know what ever happened to it, btw, I sent you a pm a few days ago, did you get it?

If I am not mistaken,
Anvert did the Crew fix.
You can not use the same fix for things outside of the sub.
DivingDuck confirmed that on the V-1
Controllers for the interiors only work on the interiors.

Agreed Reece, I share the same frustration as you my friend. It pisses me off and still this little bastard of a fault remains.

Yes; attempts have been made [crew] and made successfully, but there is yet to be a mod that destroys that damn see-through light in the entire SHIII world.

As a "Paranormal Seeker" [as one of my hobbies and never with anyone else - more realistic] it reminds me of ORBS little bloody lights popping up everywhere

Good "Thread Post" Reece, I'll place this into my "SEEK OUT & DESTROY LIST"

Here is Anvart's Halo Not Visible Through Body mod.

http://files.filefront.com/HaloNotVi.../fileinfo.html

What it does is modify the Body01 and Body02 .dat files.

Not 100% sure but I don't think it did.

I'm also of the belief it's the same file that HW3 has posted.

Sorry to off topic, but on a similar note, does anybody have any plans to do an update of a mod from way back that got rid of the strange triangles cut into the hair of some of the crew on the back of they're necks,:hmm: it really bugs the hell out of me

@ Nikbear

Bit puzzled as to why it should be necessary for anyone to update Anvart's mod ( which was done way back in Oct 2006).

Doesn't this work just as well today as it did then?. Link is:-

http://files.filefront.com/Head4rar/.../fileinfo.html

for anyone who hasn't got it.

Fubar also included it in his uniform mod. Link: http://hosted.filefront.com/fubar45

This mod also incorporates Anvart's hand texture fix.
