Default Question about Forceware Drivers

I have never tried Forceware drivers but am aware of them. Do any of you NV owners use them, and if so, why? I have a 7600GS 500 mb card.

Thanks.

If you have a 7600, you're using Forceware drivers. That's the name of the official nVidia drivers. I'm running the current set, Forceware 169.21 WHQL.

I have the same card.... The 169.21 drivers are the last "official" drivers. You can also find a 174.xx series (beta) BUT while it helped DirectX, it broke some OpenGL stuff... I reverted back to 169.21....

If you want to tweak your card you could try Rivatuner: http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner

However, be VERY DAMN SURE you know what you're doing...

Thanks. Interestingly, I had serious stability problems (stirations, blue screen of death, etc.) with the 169 drivers. Went back to the 168 (or whatever the previous set was) and all is well.

Same here. The 174.74 drivers are great, but when combined with the 8800-series cards SH4 doesn't really like them (i.e., the game would crash without warning). Thankfully, the 169.21s work just fine with all the games I have on my system, including SH4.

I have a 7600GT 256 Mb and i actually use the BETA drivers (Forceware).
If you want to overclok your graphic card, be caution (You can break the graphic card). I overclock my GF (600Mhz core) and i couldn't see any fps gain in SH4.
