Default Attack scope question

Sorry if this has been asked before:

I just installed patch 1.5 + TMO + PE2 + RSRD.

Seems like my attack scope does not have any more the stadimeter bottom line (the line which you should align with waterline).

How should I take ranges without that line? Or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

You don't need to align anything with the waterline on the actual ship. You just bring the double image's waterline to the top of the real image.

Oh, really...

I've been adjusting that horizontal line to ships waterline for almost a year!

Now I'm embarrased. Thanks for explaining this.

No problem, a perfectly natural assumption I would think

If you look at the picture at the top of the page, in the top right you have the equipment for determining a ship's course and speed. In the top left is a grey button which creates a double image to estimate range with. Drag the second image so that the waterline meets with the top of the mast in the normal image.
Note that this will only work If you have locked onto the ship and have identified it using the recognition manual.

There are guides in this forum that explain each step in making a successful firing solution.

Another result from Ubisoft's poor documentation.

Every gamespot review site on the net has been critical.

Mine is exactly the 100th post restating the exact same point here at subsim.

Do I win a prize?

Ugh! I've been trying to align the "missing line" with the waterline too!
But at least my excuse is that I'm new to manual targeting...
