Res Fix and Vista SP1

Hi me hearties.

I was wondering if anyone has the resfix thingy working succesfully with Vista ? Reinstalled SH3 afresh yesterday along with GWX 2.1. Everything is working fine so far, but I'd like to get the res up.

Best regards.

Works fine for me using Vista 32 ultimate with SP1 You have to configure your d3d9.cfg in your SH3 directory where you should have installed it.

example config file info,

;
; DX9res Settings
; by Kegetys <kegetys@dnainternet.net>
;
; Note that this config is reloaded on device reset, so you can task switch out
; of the game, change settings from this file and then return
;
[config]
; ResX: Horizontal resolution setting
; ResY: Vertical resolution setting
; useFiltering: Use linear filtering for UI elements
; enableScreenshots: Hook printscreen keypress to save TGA screenshot
resX=1680
resY=1050

useFiltering=1
enableScreenshots=1
screenshotPath=C:\Users\Wolfeman\Pictures
[gamma]
; setGamma: Override gamma ramp
; gammaRed: Red channel gamma (1.0 = normal, decrease to add brightess, increase to darken)
; gammaGreen: Green channel gamma (1.0 = normal, decrease to add brightess, increase to darken)
; gammaBlue: Blue channel gamma (1.0 = normal, decrease to add brightess, increase to darken)
setGamma=0
gammaRed=1.0
gammaGreen=1.0
gammaBlue=1.0

Red area is the resolution you need to change according to your wishes.

Yeah it works fine as far as I can tell, I'm running vista though, not XP. I just checked, I have SH3 running at 1280x1024@60hz, the max resolution of my LCD. Should I be using a different version? Also, I plan on upgrading to a nice new widescreen LCD sometime soon. Will SH3 work in widescreen without stretching?

Both my laptop and desktop are widescreen, the laptop does stretch it; albeit I haven't seen any negative effects. On the desktop have a 21" widescreen and by default loads it into 1600 x 1200. Doesn't strecth it so you get the black bars on the left and right side of the screen.
