Default MH-60 sonobouy loadout

Hi, I'm very new to DW. I have been trying my hand at the FFG. Couple questions: 1) Is there a way to change the sonobouy loadout on the helo before it leaves your own ship? I'm practicing on the Gulf Breakout scenario and would to replace all those VLADs with DIFARS/ DICASS for the shallow waters.
2) Can the helicopter drop every single sonobouy on board and still monitor? What I mean is I understand that the number of grams is limited but if a single helicopter drops 12 or 16 sonobouys will all those sonobouys still be able to listen even if I cannot dedicated a gram/grams to every single one? Will they still be able to go "hot" if I don't have a gram dedicated to it at that moment?

I am using the 1.04 patch and that 3.08 modification thingy. Great game - I like the combination of technology, tactics, and the patience required to watch a your startegy unfold (or fold up).

1. No
2a. I think so. As far as I can tell, AI air platforms will process any buoy in range. This might not be applicable if the helo is under ship control, though.
2b. Yes, and there is no way to disable this cheat unfortunately.

Molon Labe,

Thanks for the response. When I read the manual I'm not sure if some of the limitations of the game are either because of the actual software of the game or if it is real world limitation the designer is trying to imitate. I have no idea how much real world computing power it take to process info from a single sonobouy. On the FFG there are only 8 grams available for sonobouy monitoring. To this army guy that doesn't seem like a whole lot given their importance to the FFG's primary anti-sub mission.

oh, yes - one last question - how long can a AI-helo from own ship FFG stay aloft? I don't see a fuel gauge or something else that tells me to bring the helo back for fuel. I do not see anything in the ASTAC station for flight duration.

Sorry, but that's not one I know.

The answer is as simple as obvious ... there is no way to tell how much fuel the AI helo has left. You can only guesstimate and keep an eye on the clock ... I'm not entirely sure but I think a full helo (in game) can stay aloft for something between 2 and 3 hours considering that it takes ages to RTB and land Id say that you should call him back around the 2hrs mark.

In that regard, has anyone actually run a helo out of fuel while sitting watch on the ASTAC? This is a good question.
