Data tool won't give speed - please help

The manual says to Lt click on the clock icon on the data tool, then after some time to Lt click again. The speed is then supposed to be displayed on the dial.
No matter what I try I cannot get the speed to display. (The dial remains on 0 knots).
Please help
Thanks a lot

Does not work. Throw manual away, this does not work either. While in TBT or scope view, ID the vessel and get range. This will also update the bearing. Determine AOB. Wait about 30 seconds and to this process over again. Once done click on the little watch found on the range/AOB dial you were just using. This will give speed. The calculation for speed is only as good as your range imput.

Default Manual targeting question

I just started learning manual targeting and figured this thread would be a good one to jump on and ask my question.

When in manual targeting you no longer have the little arrow telling you when your shot is good. So, should I assume that I'm still going to get the best firing solution when the target ship is somewhere near 0 degrees in front of me? In other words, even if I've entered all the data in the TDC correctly I shouldn't fire until the target is within that 10 degrees, either direction, of 0 degrees, correct?

Assuming all other data is correct, your highest accuracy comes with the torpedo has to turn as little as possible in order to intercept the target. Look at your attack map once you've input the range/bearing/AOB/speed. You'll see a line leading out from your boat; this is the torpedo path. Try and keep that to within 15° and you'll be as accurate as possible. Normally this means you have to fire 10-20° before the ship cross the center line depending on target speed, range, and course.

Ok, I know this neat way to determine AOB based on Aspect ratio etc. But I can't find the damned length of the boat anywhere on the page!!!

I'm using TMO, RSRD, PE2.

Am I just blind?

Please, someone show me where it is.
