Nearby TFs pls!

I get notices for TFs, but they are hundreds of miles away. How do I get any close to me? There's no point chasing the ones so far away since they will probably just change course once I get nearby. I am playing stock 4.1 and have only encountered one TF by running into it!

Actually, TFs are rare encounters and as such are worth waiting for. You are wise not to chase contacts all over the map. Complete the missions, if you have fuel and weapons, report in and get more missions. RTB and upgrade your boat and crew. You'll eventually have a TF unexpectedly appear when you least expect it. You might get one or two your whole career. Maybe none. Maybe a dozen... Well I doubt that. Until that happens, there is a lot to do in the game. You'll want to have your boat and crew ready for when it happens.

Got a big blob return on the radar tonight. Looks like 11 escorts. Waves of aircraft flying over. Must be about 25 ships and 6 of the returns are huge. I think I just ran across the 1st TF on this compaign and it's a whopper. Too late the play it out so saved. Gunna have fun tomorrow.
