Sh4 is Cpu,Ram & Video card hungry.
What are your computer specs ? |

1GB RAM is low for SH4, 2GB is recommended and works much better. Also, what else do you have running in the background? If you have lots of other apps/tasks running at the same time, they can drastically slow things down.
As firewall mentioned, it would help a lot to know your machine specs (cpu type and speed, graphics card type and VRAM, OS version).

My old PC with SH4 - 1024 meg RAM, AGP based graphics card took 3 minutes to load the game, took 4 minutes to load a saved game. The mouse pointer was always hard to control. My new PC [about 3 weeks old now] has 3 gigabytes of RAM and a so so PCI-e little girl weenie graphics card - Nvidia 8500 GT w/256 onboard RAM ..... Takes about 20 seconds to load a game. To load a saved game, it takes an additional 10 seconds or less. Mouse pointer works flawlessly. The difference in the graphics? Breath taking. Start shopping or start upgrading.

A slow mouse is a dead give away your machine is too slow or too overloaded with auto-starts or high game settings.

![]() Seriously, the PC with the specs I posted in the thread below, would load the game & saved campaign files in under 30 secs, with no slow downs during gameplay and a steady 40 FPS with 4 x AA/AF. Now of course, if you can't maintain a healthy PC with no more than 25 processes running at one time, you can expect to have poor performance in any game. ![]() Anyway, StarLion45 has enough of these threads - http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=134340
