Trouble at Dunkirk

Ahoy me hearties,

Just started a new career after installing SH3 Commander 3.0 and all has gone well till now. After recieving a message from BdU advising of a large number of ships at Dunkirk, I decided to investigate. On arrival all hell is loose, it must be the evacuation, with mouth slavering I decide to sink some of those lovely large vessels. First 2 fish take down a troop ship, second 2 an armed cruiser, next a destroyer As you might have guessed I am already dreaming of meeting Doenitz at the dock when...... wham..... system hard lock Bu*g%er I exclaim and try again.... after three sinkings, same thing, hard lock up. This has happened five times so far :rotfl: Am I never to succeed. Playing GWX 2.0 after fresh SH3 install and patch, cleaned out all previous traces including documents\*\* . Defragged and reg cleaned.

Is this happening to anyone else, or am I doomed to never stop the evacuation ?

Best regards.

I seem to remember that this is a stock bug that involves approaching dunkirk from a certain angle which results in a lock-up

Fubar hi.

This is sounding familar and has nothing to do with angle.

I suggest you look at my last couple of posts at end of GWX2 sticky in SH3 mods.

And post back here. I'll be waiting.

I'd like to hear your opinion .

Its the Royal Navy's new secret weapon, you obviously brought too much attention to yourself sinking so many ships! Go hunt some convoys in the North Atlantic and leave the poor tommies on the beach heads!

Firewall.

Checked out your posts as you suggested. Sorry to see you are having such a hard time. For my part I don't think I'm suffering the same problem as you. This is only happening at Dunkirk and so far only either in or very close to the harbour. Sorry but I'm not sure what you mean regarding < > controls I can't see them noted when I hit F1. Perhaps these keys are different on a US kb layout.

My lockups seem to be reasonably random tho always in the same very small Dunkirk area. It has happened on torpedo impact, another time during a DD chase (the bugger pinged the hell outta me). Couple times whilst on approach, so nothing seems nailable. Other than at Dunkirk I have had no such problems.

Sorry this doesn't seem to nail anything definitive, I hope you get it sorted shipmate. If anything crops up thats akin to what your seeing I'll certainly send you an update. Best of luck mate.

Best regards.
