You have to apply the res fix. Have a look here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=127054 , http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=128723 , http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ght=widescreen . You just want to put on the XP (assume you're running XP) file which still seems to be at http://files.filefront.com/SH3_XPSP2.../fileinfo.html . Includes instructions IIRC. There was some discussion about putting on some Microsoft thingie, but it's not necessary.

It might sound strange, but has anyone else's sub lost speed after applying the res fix? I've been cruising at 6 kts and was having a look at the forums when I spotted the res fix. So I tried it, and it does make a nice difference, but after about half an hour I noticed my sub had slowed to 5 kts then to 4. I thought it might have been wind or seas getting rougher, but no, the sea and sinds were as they always are, smooth and calm. I kept calling for 6 kts and it seemed the sub was trying, but never got over 5 kts. So I decided to see if it was the fix that was effecting it, wondering that it shouldn't effect something like that. Afterall, I was actually getting a better frame rate (from 75 to 110). But I took the fix off and the sub went bact to the correct speed! Weird!
Anyone else noticed this? |
