I upgraded my Notebook from 1GB to 2GB RAM
What I really see is: increased performance when it comes to loading stuff slightly increase in gameplay (fewer lags) Still the lousy graphic chip is the problem... the RAM-Update helped for sure but it was not the cure.

What graphics are you using :hmm:
It's really hardly suprising when you consider what a notebook was designed to do. |

If you have a system where the graphics card 'shares memory' with the rest of the system, you probably should bump the memory up a bit.
If not, then some of it would depend on what kind of graphics card you are actually using. But if you are doing this all on a notebook? I can see where you still need to boost things a bit... ![]() |

X300 Radeon Mobilit 64MB (not shared!) 7200rpm HDD so the Notebook has quite some power and SH3 runs well except the thing with the blurring perriscope - which honestly I did not expect to get better with more phys memory But I also use some progs for work that eat upü memory like nothing ... Corel Draw etc... CAD progs we shall use soon... Simulation of Chemical properties of certain structures etc... So the update was not a waste of money but making my work easier... the nice sideeffect is that SH3 loads fast (as well as windows ![]()

I was having the same problems running SH3 on a notebook. I've recently found a program called 'Alacrity' (which you can get here alacritypc.com), which has made a huge difference.
Basically, you setup a profile for the game, and the idea is that it shuts everything down that's not needed (including the desktop etc), runs the game, then restarts everything automatically when you exit the game. Seems to work really well so far, and it's completely configurable. The game doesn't look anywhere near as good on my notebook as some of the videos I've seen on YouTube (my notebook uses shared graphics), but it least it loads quicker, and runs a lot faster. Might be worth a try. |

The graphics is obviously the weak link in the chain.....Are notebooks upgradeable :hmm:
