Default Moderator bio

I think it may help a few people if we had a bio on some of the moderators especially in this forum. Is Takeda Shingen our moderator really a Japanese man of over 400 years of age? I would like to know more of the man behind the mask so that I can evaluate his moderating decisions.Sometimes he does not always walk the middle road and he has a strong Victorian idea of what is prurient.
My initial impressio is that he is also very pro-German and anti-British.

I disagree.
This is not necessary, the forum is not a democracy or a public service.

Why?

So they can judge the moderators?

What kind of criteria do you think they should be judged upon?
Nationality? Age? Education?

I am happy just to judge them on their actions as moderators.

If I was a moderator, which incidentally I believe is the kiss of death on this part of the forum,I would have a sticky with my biographical details and a short note covering my ethos. This would allow new visitors to see something of me and my position as moderator.I would try to be impartial at all times and maintain a detachment over all the issues that are raised.I would not have a personal opinion.I would offer encouragement to those that are being unfairly flamed and douse the heat of those that try to do this.

Why? how would that help anyone? What would it achieve?

Curiosity is not a good enough reason.

Personally I have to disagree with you Linton. Why would I want to know about moderators personal life? Why does anyone need to know how many dogs or cats they own? Jezz man if anyone wants to date go to the bar. :rotfl: I hear theres plenty of hot babes to get to know if you know what I mean. hehehe.

Who are you??A new person would be asking the same of the moderators in any part of this forum!!What I am suggesting is merely a polite introduction.Something that gentlemen do when they first meet.

Seems kind of silly to me. Moderators need to be able to do their job without question, kind of like military officers giving orders...or forum discipline is nonexistant. As was said before, this isn't a democracy. Understanding why the mods locked/edited your thread just isn't part of the process.

A silly idea. Moderators are beings at the edge of things, to stop us falling off.

Also, there's a certain amount of private data that you have to hand over to SUBSIM at the beginning, namely an email address. That should be it.

Linton relax I'm not attacking you. Just some cheezy humour. Yet it is a little strange to know people personal lives.. If anyone is curious about someone ask in PM.
