Hello All!
While looking at my crew management page of the USS Pollack SS-180 (a Porpoise Class boat) I noticed that I had a crew of 70, not counting the damage control team. All documentation I have found on this class list the complement at 50 to 55 crewmen aboard. Does anyone have a more accurate figure, and what the different positions are that the crew is assigned? I would like to make my crew more realistic. Thanks for your help. CaptBC

in my copy of ""The Fleet Boat in The U.S. Navy" on page 62 under the stats for the Perch class in which SS-180 falls into it states:
Crew: 5 officers, 45 men (specified) 8 officers, 65 men (1945) |

You'll regret shorting yourself on the DC crew if you take damage. I've seen numbers around 75+ on some crews. Not every boat had the exact same nuumber. Just like space shuttle missions, they loaded what was needed for the mission (including commandos.)
