Default Need advice for TMO.

Re soot/dirt/grease on obs periscope lens.

Can anyone direct me to which file(s) I need to change/erase/deactivate to clean the lens?

(my CO gave me a "No Go"/unsat during inspection of the scope.)

Yes, same problem here. I thought the interior fix (also one of Ducimus' files) would correct the problem, but it did not. I believe the scope we have now is the original instead of the new and improved version. Perhaps Ducimus left it out by mistake?

Howdy, Soundman.

Due to my age (vision goin' south), I need all the help I can get.
I don't think Ducimus forgot. He's got a masterpiece on his hands. Just goes to prove why young men go to war when their P.U.L.E.S. in their medical records is all 11111 (a picket fence--as the medics used to say).

The periscope textures i used are intentional - although your welcome to change them yourself, no hard feelings from me.

But the intention behind the textures, is to try and recreate the lightining conditions in the no 1 and no 2 periscope's apature. One scope was the attack periscope, but was unusable at night because its apature was too small, and didnt allow in enough light. The other scope was known as the night periscope, because it had a larger apature, and wasnt normally used for daytime attacks because its head was so much larger then the "broomstick handle" sized attack periscope. Fleet boats, to my understanding, didnt have an "observation periscope" like uboats.

heres some pictures to illustrate the difference, in game:

This is the attack periscope, being used at night:

edit:

At any rate, the textures are located in

Finally! I can SEE at night! I used to postpone attacks until dawn before... Excellent, Ducimus!

Ah Ha! Thanks Duci ! I'll check that out when I get home. I just did the reinstall last night and didn't have time to investigate. At first I thought I had a hosed install or something. Thanks so much for all your efforts and outstanding work. It IS greatly appreciated.

this pic shows the difference from the outside, the observation scope is the one most forward, larger lens, taken from the lionfish, ss-298
