This kit from Mirage Hobby in Poland has a small 'copter fun toy.

Did the real 'copter have radar to see waaaaaaaay over the horizon?

Too bad para-gliding hadn't been invented yet in WW2. Just run the boat at speed and give your observer altitude. Probably would have had about the same effect.
