The title sais it all... over the last 24 hours i have spend 7 trying to clone the german 34 type DD... but always make mistakes.
The final Question: wich method is most commonly used to clone/duplicate a ship? The technique used: get the Datnavigator tool make a copy of the ship and rename the files. load the DAT file into that tool (let it load, it takes some time) grab all and any ID codes found by the program and note them down in a text file. open the DAT in a Hexeditor. look for the IDs noted down earlier, and replace them. ->the new ID is the same as the old one, except the first two and last two pieces, wich can, no, MUST be changed. and so forth. The *good* part is that i was able to export the OBJects of the German Type 34 DD and was also able to load them into a 3D editing program (wings3D) and i see that 3D editing is difficult, but possible.:hmm: ![]() looks like fun! All one needs is a few good Drawings and patience So, is there an easier way to duplicate a ship? A quicker one? I feel quite lost in all this.
