No new objectives

I did four patrols in a row in slightly different areas. However, I don't get anything new after reporting my status to base and my radio is fine. How long does it take for another assignmnent? Should I just patrol around until I get new goals? Is this a sign that I should return to base and end patrol?

Are you running stock SH4 or are you useing one of the bigger mods ?

If you're out of torpedoes they may not say anything. Also you must be completely surfaced to use the radio, that's kind of obvious though. In my experience the response comes instantly.

I think if you have fewer than 7 torpedoes remaining, they don't give you a new objective. I don't know the exact number, but I do know it's not just empty tubes that prevents you. At 9 fish remaining I got a new objective, and with 5 they didn't give me one, so somewhere between 6-9 is the minimum you can have for them to issue a new objective.

Quillan is right. Below a certain torp load they figure you don't have enough to complete a new mission. You can freelance the last of your torps away and RTB.

The status report has been upgraded in the add-on: no more wondering like "How long does it take for another assignmnent? Should I just patrol around until I get new goals? Is this a sign that I should return to base and end patrol?"

This is what you could do. Sail for 200 miles in any direction and then send another report.
