Thanks to BBW for providing an improved Mission Editor that fit within my display. I'm using Dietrich's ME User's Guide, but I've hit a snag. After placing ships, setting parameters, objectives, triggers and events, I run the mission validation check and get a list of error warnings. The first one says I have "Tramp Steamer #1 too close to Por Small Merchant #1 (current distance 211.9, minimum 300.0), yet using the radius ruler tool it measures 8.344 km. Also, I'm getting a list of 12 AI Tramp Steamers and 1 AI Medium Cargo ships that have "no waypoints attached". Thing is, there's only one Tramp Steamer and one Medium Cargo ship in the game and they both clearly have two waypoints. I've zoomed out to ensure an accidental mouse click could not have inadvertently placed objects elsewhere.
I've got a lot of experience building missions in IL-2 and Janes WW2F over the years, so while there are differences in some conventions, it's not apparent what's going on. Any ideas?

Try running the mission using the time filter editor to see the actual movements of all the units. If nothing obvious stands out, save it and run a test game

Thanks, Jimbuna. It worked well, so I saved it. It was only after I reloaded it to do some tweaking that I realized where the other ships mentioned in the validation process were. It seems the auto-populating feature of the ME put them there and they were not visible until I reloaded at which point the time filter was set to an earlier time that I had previously designated. I correct this, then I was able to delete them.
I test played the mission and it worked pretty much as I wanted, so I figured I'd make a multiplayer version of it. Dietrich's guide made it seem easy enough...just make human controlled uboats. I already had two in the mission, one human, one AI, so I figured I'd simply check the Human Control box and save it as a MultiMission. Apparently it's not that easy because I kept getting a validation message saying "Multiple player units found in a single Player mission". Then I found the parameters had to be altered to Multiplayer configuration (a simple check in the box) and all was well. Thanks for the help! ![]()
