Just bought Sh4

a veteran in SH3 (63% realism ) just bought SH4.

What´s the latest patch ? How good is it ? Any major bug to be aware of before starting ?? Any MUST mod ??

I think the latest patch is pretty good, myself, though it's not perfect, but what patch is? Anyhoo, there are many mods out there for you to try, but I like Trigger Maru. Other captains have their favorites, too. Welcome!

I'm eagerly following this thread. I was a SH4 early adopter and followed its patch and mod development until my computer got stolen I went on SH4 hiatus as my temporary box had no hope of running SH4.

Now that I'm back up and running with a computer that's capable of SH4, I have a few questions myself. Please bear with me, I'm really not trying to be lazy but it would be nice if someone could answer these concisely:

• I played around a bit with 1.4, and I see its a no brainer. Install that for sure.
• RFB was my first choice, but when it seemed like TM was the way that things were gravitating towards, I installed it. Loved it. Was a big TM fan after Beery retired from RFB. But now, I see some others (namely LukeFF) have picked up the RFB torch. What's the latest on RFB? Does it include the RSRD campaign layers? If not, are they compatable?
• I remember the major "must have" mods for me, along with the improved campaign layers, were the uniform fixes (improved hats, belts, medals, etc), Reflections on the Water and OakGroove's improved dials. Are they included in the current versions of RFB and/or TM?
• I remember Ducimus saying he was retiring himself. Is this true? Has someone else picked up TM in his stead?

Thank you guys for getting me back up to speed. I feel like I'm getting the itch to go show the IJN who's boss again. Help get me on my way to doing so in style!
