Last 3 missions this happens to me.
Patroling on the surface with surface radar on an I get a call for "single contact". There "blip" on screen is fading in an out. When I take a view of the target I see not just the ship ( Destroyer ) but one ship ( Destroyer ) infront of the ship an a line of ships ( Destroyers ) going ALL the way to the horizon. When this happens I can't get over 128 TC an eventualy I'll get a "OUT OF MEMORY" pop up window. I'll restart my system an restart SH4 an use a saved from B4 this happened an the game will play with no problems. The only thing I changed, for the game, was adding ROW NEW SeaFoam from Jaketoox. Has anyone else have this happen to them. This is the 2 carreer with a fresh install of XP. I did change graphic cards from an ATI MSI X1900XTX to a GeForce eVGA 7900 GTO to a GeForce eVGA 8800GTS 512 mb Video card I do use DriverSweeper after the un-install of the drivers an manualy check my system for leftovers.... I might have to just reinstall the game.......... |

What happens, if you shut the radar down?
My guess is, that you get to many contact-lines, for any higher TC. How much RAM does your rig have?

If I shut the radar down I still get lag on TC, but any TC below 128 plays fine. I tried playing several hours after the contact was gone an the lag is still there. I think the game is still spawnning the ships an not ending the spawnning. The good new is I save alot....
Normaly I can goto 4096 TC an I start getting lag the higher I go. 7000+ TC in my normal game play is better then when this happens. |

Mods? I've seen messages in the past where too many spawns were caused by mods using up memory and lugging processing time down to a crawl. based on how much time I've spent in the game, I doubt it's a stock game "bug."

The next time I return to base I'll remove "ROW NEW SeaFoam from Jaketoox" which is the only thing I added when this started happening, but I can't see this causing it with only texture files an a new waterFoamPS.fx.

Yes! I removed "ROW NEW SeaFoam from Jaketoox" an no more weird bug. Played a mission all the way thru an NO infinite spawnning of ships....

Nope, not "ROW NEW SeaFoam from Jaketoox", but I found some ERRORS in TM latest version that was my problem. 2 of the ships in the see folder have different UnitType the the original. The only thing I can think of is the game may think it's one type of ship while spawnning another an it doesn't know which to spawn. I've went thru 2 patrols now with no problems.
I use a watered down version of TM ship dimension fix 'cause I don't like the rest of whats done in that folder. DON'T like the textures that BLOT out the radar! |
